The Lions dropped their Friday night game at USC, and lost the Century Cup to USC for the first time in 5 years. Looking to rebound, the Lions put forth a strong effort versus Chapman and came away with the victory. Chapman scored first, but newcomer Matt Boente tied it up late in the first. By the early second period, Chapman would have built a 3-1 lead, but the Lions came storming back. Goals from Paynter, Cintas, Medeiros and a 2nd from Boente put the Lions up 5-4 after a wild 2nd period. The third period was more calculated, but the Lions faced a 6 on 4 penalty Kill the final 2 minutes of the game, but were able to hold off to secure the victory.
