Lions Victorious on Senior Night!

The Lions beat UCLA on Senior Night with a final score of 4-2. UCLA came flying out of the gates, scoring first and generating many chances. Late in the first period, Matt Boente knotted the score at 1-1 as the puck slid back door and he had a wide open net. In the second, UCLA would score early again, but Boente would knot the score on a great single handed effort off a face off. The Lions would score again quickly after as Boente fed a great pass to the slot and a streaking Justin Cintas found the back of the net. In the third, the Bruins would pressure, but the Lions withheld, and with the UCLA net empty, Evan Ng stole the puck and scored an empty net goal to seal the Senior Night victory. Jake Blazier stood tall in net, including a game saving breakaway save with 2 minutes to play. The Lions celebrated their six graduating seniors, Evan Ng, Kevin Paynter, Justin Cintas, Matt Dolegowski, Nick Collins and John Lovelace. Seniors picked up 2 of the 4 goals on the night, and the fans steamed onto the ice after the victory to celebrate with the team!
