Seniors Shine on Senior Night vs. LBSU

The Lions celebrated their 4 graduating Seniors, but the seniors came up big scoring 4 of the 6 goals on the night. The Lions scored first on a point shot from Vitta in the first. LMU would get up 2-0 as Martins got sent on a breakaway and he tucked it home. LMU led 2-1 after the first. There was no scoring in the second until the final seconds as Tracy scored on a breakaway with 3 seconds to go to lead 3-1. In the third, the Lions would score to get up 4-1 as Vitta once again fired it in from the point. Martins would carry it wide and Lawton would score his senior night goal on the rebound while falling down. LB would get it back to within one, 5-4 late in the third as the Lions got into penalty trouble. LBSU had a penalty shot with a minute to go in the game, but Sitzman made a nice save and held on for the victory on Senior Night as Fink found the empty net to seal it. Congratulations to the four seniors, Martins, Tracy, Fink and Lawton, on their LMU Hockey careers and for all scoring tonight. And a big thank you to the fans who PACKED the rink, with the largest LMU student crowd we’ve ever had at a home game. The Lions now will play LBSU tomorrow night in the final conference game of the season and the Lions final regular season game of the year.
