Lions Power Past Cal Lutheran in Kings Cup Tournament…

The Lions got into a bit of trouble early in the second, trailing Cal Lutheran 4-1 in the first round of the annual Kings Cup tournament. The Kings Cup, hosted by the LA Kings, sets to find out the best team in Los Angeles. First round and the championship round games are played at Staples Center. The Lions found their stride midway through the second, even having to kill two penalties, scored 4 goals to end the 2nd with a 5-5 tie. In the third, the Lions stayed hot, with 3 goals in the first few minutes, and LMU won the game 9-6. Medeiros (6), Boente (5) and Cintas (3) led the Lions in scoring on the night, with Medeiros equaling his top goal effort of the season, with 4. Matt Dolegowski scored his second of the year to cut the lead in half in the second, and sophomore transfer Parker Thomas scored a beautiful short side bar down goal, his first of the season, late in the third. The Lions will enjoy the Halloween weekend, and then head to San Jose the following weekend for a two game set.
