Lions Prevail in WCHC 3rd Place Game

The WCHC Championship was won by ASU only moments before the start of the LMU game. The Lions faced off against LBSU for third place in the WCHC Conference playoffs. This game was more jovial than hard hitting for both teams, who have come to know each other well over the past 4 years. This being the third game in 2 weeks between the two opponents. LMU would score first, and only trailed one time in the game for a few minutes. Besides that, it was all offense from both teams, with Seniors Tracy (4G-5A-9P) Martins (2G-4A-6P) and Fink (1G-3A-4P) leading the team in scoring on the night. Evan Ng notched two goals, for 3 total on the weekend. Kevin Paynter and Gage Jorgensen had the other goals for the Lions who won the game 11-7. Blazier was solid in net while being left to fend for himself a good amount. The Lions next game is playing for the Kings Cup at Staples Center on February 23rd, where they’ll take a 4th and final crack at beating Northridge this season.
