The Lions were looking for a bit of redemption, after losing their first game of the year at SDSU in a wild final 10 minutes of the game. The Lions would face SDSU as the home team as part of the Cali Classic Showcase. Game one of the showcase didn’t disappoint for the Lions who scored first and never trailed, winning 4-2.
Junior Goalie Jason Footlick played well for the Lions, turning away several strong chances for SDSU throughout the game.
The Lions got goals from Justin Hertz, Brian Clem x2 and Freshman Gabi Rodriguez scored his first collegiate goal.
The Lions finished the season with a 1-1 record against SDSU, and face CU Boulder and Colorado State in the remainder of the Cali Classic this weekend.
