Lions Sweep Chapman, Campbell nets Shutout

The Lions were hot from the very start, scoring 8 goals in the first period, and going on to beat WCHC rival Chapman, 17-0.  Grant Campbell, getting his third start, made some unbelievable saves down the stretch to earn his first collegiate shutout.  These saves included a diving backdoor glove save on a 5v3 PK, and a backdoor save with 11 seconds to play in the game to preserve the shutout.  Lots of goal scorers for the Lions, as Anderson x2, Hertz x3, Clem x2, Billings x3, Shibata x3, Greg Bennett x1, Johnson x2 and Hirai x1, all put pucks in the net for the Lions.  LMU continues to hold onto first place in the WCHC standings.

Tomorrow night LMU faces a tough test as Long Beach comes to LMU’s rink for the first ever LMU “Ugly Christmas Sweater” and Teddy Bear Toss Game.
