One of the biggest weekends of the year starting off on the right foot, as the Lions took down Utah Valley University 9-4 in the opening game of the Beehive Showcase in Utah. The Lions are in Utah for a tough 4 games in 4 days, but started off with a big win.
Justin Hertz scored twice early, and the Lions never trailed in the game. Austin Billings scored 3 of the next four for the Lions, grabbing a hat trick in the second period. The Lions also had goals from McClellan, Montoya, Hirai and Manzer.
Grant Campbell grabbed the win in net, stopping 16 shots.
The Lions are back at it tomorrow, for a tough contest vs BYU at 7PM mountain time.
